Sometimes, we forget it’s just a game…

As the games seem to get more competitive, sometimes we forget that soccer is, after all, a game.

At a recent CATS FC vs. Muskegon Lakers GU12 match, one of the Laker players was injured. The coach of the team took the time to write CATS coach Erin Durkee, team and their families for their support of their player. As a club and as part of the greater soccer community, we should be be proud of our players and the way they handled themselves.

From the Parents/Coach of Muskegon:

I wanted to start this out by expressing my thanks for how the situation was handled yesterday. Our goalie Brooke is at home recovering with what the doctors are calling a sprained neck muscle. She had a CAT scan and a X-ray done at Devos children’s hospital and both came back clean. She will be wearing a neck brace for two weeks as a precaution. But all in all, they expect a full recovery. Our parents and coaches would like to express our thanks for all the support we were given by your referee staff, and also the cats team, coaches and parents. I have attached a picture of Brooke. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me at any time.

Thank you again,

Jason Pearce
